The means is as important as the end.

I read this the other day and thought it was brilliant.

Constantly looking for a shortcut to the end of the road causes us to miss the opportunities that only the road can provide.

As leaders we are not on a journey alone – we are bringing with us those who rely on us for guidance and leadership and direction.

If we are constantly looking for shortcuts to achieve the goal then we do a disservice to those who follow because they will arrive at the destination in exactly the same state in which they began.

What kind of leadership is that? Stop being a tour guide. Start being a leader.
